Bio: Bayan El-Shalabi
Vibrant colours and emotions stirred by the oil paint as it flows across the canvas reflect my love for the world which surrounds me.
I was drawn into the art world as my job related years began to shift. I have been surrounded with my father Ibrahim's paintings since I was born!
I was able to begin to see life around me - alive and moving in a rhythmic, fluid way.
My goal is to share my awareness of the fragile and delicate balance between the real world and the whimsical world as I see it; stimulating and full of joy.
I am the curator of Petra Art Gallery in London (Ontario, Canada) where a wide collection of my paintings are on display next to those of my father.
My paintings elicit the memories of the viewer - "from where he has come and where he is going!" My father's paintings take the viewer on a tour to our homeland of Jordan and Palestine.

Artist Statement:
Ibrahim Shalaby is an extraordinarily talented artist whose luminous paintings and sensual portraits reveal a spectrum of hues as well as a range of atmosphere and emotion. Ibrahim has grown and is recognized today as a strong force in the competitive world of romance style (mostly women) and these caught the attention of the art collectors.
To date Ibrahim has sold 3,000 originals; his style has dominated the art market. Most of his work can be viewed in many galleries such as Art Gallery of Hamilton, Burlington Art Gallery, and in many galleries in the USA (Michigan, New York & Missouri); while dedicating his limited time to other Middle Eastern - North American projects and organizations.
